What does the blast of the shofar remind you of?
(Leviticus 23:23-25) Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of horns (זִכְרוֹן תְּרוּעָה), a holy convocation. You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’”
God calls us to blow horns and this is to remind us of something. What is it that God wants us to remember?
Here is one thing the blast of the shofar is supposed to remind us of.
(Rosh Hashanah Prayer) … May it direct our thoughts to [cause us to remember] the day when the Shofar will sound for the redemption of all mankind.
(Matthew 24:30-31) And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great shofar and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
There will be an important shofar blast in the future; the near future I hope. Rosh Hashanah prayers and the Amidah remind us of this. I also included a statement Yeshua made. Do you see the similarities of what He said, and what is declared in the Amidah? Yeshua was basically paraphrasing part of the Amidah. Here are the two similarities:
- There will be a great shofar blast
- Messiah will gather His elect or people from the four corners of the earth
Looking ahead to the future is very important. When we see what will happen in the future, we can take steps to make sure we are ready for the future. This is wonderful news that Messiah will come and gather His people. The important question is:
What do you need to do to make sure Messiah will be coming for you? If you do not know what you need to do to make certain Messiah will be coming for you I urge you to contact me so we can talk.
